Beverly J. Smith


    Riversong founding Charter and staff member Beverly J. Smith performs an eclectic mix of acoustic music. As a former musician with Pod Augers String Band, Crazy Quilt, Rootbound, Tumblehome, Blue Sky String Band, JS Bach Band and Pioneer Society, she has performed at festivals, dances and venues in Kalamazoo , Ann Arbor , South Bend , Berrien and Cass County . A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Beverly excels on piano, fiddle, banjo, guitar, ukulele and autoharp, with some unusual instruments thrown in. She is an "Elementary Music Specialist" who enjoys telling stories and getting youngsters involved in interactive movement and song. Her efforts in this area have resulted in her appointment as an Associate Professor in Music for the Elementary Classroom Teacher, at Glen Oaks Community College ,. She has also written, directed and performed in many theatrical productions, including a Western Michigan University production of "Quilters" which played at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC . She is available for festivals, concerts, square-dances or ukulele workshops for all ages.

    Smith conducts RMS sponsored children's workshops and has appeared on stage at the Vickers’ Theater in 3 Oaks to perform with her youthful music-workshop participants.
