    Riversong Music Society’s’ Performing member musician Kevin Blair brings rich evocative professional quality to the many varied genres of musical entertainment he performs. Born in Montclair, New Jersey he became a Niles, Michigan resident at age 12. Pursuing his love of music and visual arts, his schooling at the Kendall School of Design and SW Michigan College was in an area and era where his high level of artistry and creativity quickly developed and provided new visions of life in unique perspectives. He was a member of the Michiana popular and successful music group known as the “Sounds Of America”, recording stars of such long standard favorites as “At the hop, Twistin’, Rock and roll is here to stay” among other bands through the decades and as a solo performer..

    Kevin appears and performs actively in the Midwest from Michigan to Florida. He has gained recognition in Colorado and the Midwest where his performing creative talents and visual artistry has continued to gained recognition and awards. His high level creativity, both along his songwriting path and his widespread Galleried art throughout the .U.S., has brought such comments from news media as, “He is, by virtue of his musical abilities and visual arts creations, an esoteric historian of our time”. His outstanding talents, musicianship and incredible and recognizable voice and vocal clarity have been compared to such memorable voices as Merle Haggard’s and Johnny Cash. He exits each stage spotlight leaving his audiences wanting to hear his voice again.

    Kevin draws his unique songwriting style and performance inspiration from such beloved artists such as Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Ralph Stanley, Nat King Cole, The Weavers, Gillian Welch, Pete Seeger, Elvis Presley, Melvina Reynolds, Willy Nelson, Hank Williams, among others. Many of Blair’s compositions hold great emphasis on classical literature, allegory, symbolism, Bible passages and archetypical characters in the lyric style. His own original contemporary ‘Gospel Inspirational’ song lyrics and arrangements reflect his personal deep unyielding faith and spiritual influences and are reflective to form his own style genres. His versatility in genre styles range from spirituals, rhythm and blues, bluegrass, rockabilly, folk, classic big band era to old fashioned love songs. His songwriting ability reveals his deep unyielding faith and passion for his own love of life. His instrumental talents include guitar, mandolin, harmonica, keyboard, synthesizer and piano.

    Kevin performs memorable music that is emotionally dynamic. He has appeared as a performer on PBS, WNIT TV, in Indiana, at the University of South Florida, Tampa, Fiddler’s Hearth in South Bend Indiana, The Beanery in Mishawaka, Indiana, Lakeside Melody Resort and many Art Museums and Galleries throughout the country and in Michiana.

    Kevin is a performing member of Riversong Music Society and actively appears in the society’s sponsored venues and its community musical missions productions and festivals. He performs frequently at many Michiana adult care facilities such as Timber Ridge, Holy Cross, Bridgman Retirement home, Silverbrook Manor, Westwood’s and River Ridge and others in the Michiana region. He debuted on stage in 2007 at the Box Factory for the Arts in St. Joseph, Michigan, where he celebrated release of 3 additional CD’s.



    Primarily a solo performer, Blair has produced and recorded many CD’s in his career and in 2007 released 3 new recordings on which he composed, arranged and performed all instrumentals and vocals. 2 CD’s include lyric collaborations on several songs with Michiana songwriter, Joel Camp. Recorded and mastered at Bartlett Studios in Indiana, and Dudley Studio in Florida, Kevin introduced "DIALOGUE WITH MYSTERY" and "WALK ME ON DOWN, LORD" which he produced. Joel Camp wrote and produced Kevin’s 3rd CD titled "POTPORRI FOR THE SOUL" on which Blair performs the entire vocals, harmonies and instrumentals.
